- Understand Why You Would Need To Reset Your Headphones
Wireless headphones are hugely popular and for good reason. After all, who wants to be tethered to their device?
Skullcandy is a massive name in headphones and their Bluetooth options are really convenient and generally simple to use.
However, Bluetooth naturally can end up with problems, whether that be pairing with a Bluetooth device or just an annoying led light that you cant shut off!
Not having a wire is great but that adds another thing that could go wrong or that you may need to check.
Sometimes a reset of your Skullcandy headphones is all that’s needed to get things working again and there are a number of reasons you might want to do this.
It’s quick and easy to do and can solve many common problems you might encounter. Here we’ll show you exactly how to do it.
How To Reset Skullcandy Wireless Headphones
Follow these steps to reset your Skullcandy wireless headphones:
- Delete your Bluetooth headphones from your paired Bluetooth device (whether that’s a phone or a laptop). This can usually be found under settings, followed by devices but if you are having trouble refer to your device’s website or instructions.
- Press and hold the volume up and volume down buttons on the right earpiece. When the LED light flashes yellow, then you know the headphones have been reset.
Why Would I Need To Reset My Skullcandy Headphones?
There may be a number of reasons why your headphones can benefit from being reset.
One of these issues is pairing with a compatible device. As great as technology is, sometimes it just needs a good old-fashioned reset to get working again!
It may be that your set of Bluetooth headphones shows up on your device list but won’t pair, or it could be that your device can’t find them at all (even when in pairing mode).
Another common problem can be delays between your video and audio (and no one enjoys watching a movie that’s half a second out of sync!).
It could even be a fuzzy sound or perhaps even after connecting you simply aren’t hearing any sound.
Sometimes simply hitting the power button and switching it off and on again may do the trick, but if not try a full reset as this will solve a lot of issues.
Crusher technology features powerful bass drivers in each ear cup. These custom drivers deliver vibrations in response to low-end frequencies from your audio.

FAQ’s
How Do I Pair My Skullcandy Headphones?
If you’ve got a set of headphones then you need to ensure they are linked to your Bluetooth device.
With the headphones off press and hold the power button for 6 seconds.
When the headphones begin to flash this represents the Bluetooth headphones pairing mode.
Find the Bluetooth settings on your device (your iPhone, tablet, laptop, etc) and select your Skullcandy headphones. It’s that simple!
You may need to select ‘add Bluetooth device’ to enable the headphones to connect, but it should be straightforward and self-explanatory from there.
My Skullcandy Headphones Are Flashing Blue And Red
If your Skullcandy wireless headphones are flashing blue and red then the probability is they are in discovery mode (which they automatically do when not connected to a Bluetooth device).
All you need to do in this situation is make sure they are paired. Check your Bluetooth device list and make sure they are on there or follow the normal steps to pair your Skullcandy headphones.
Another reason they may be flashing blue and red is that the Bluetooth connection on your device may have been turned off (which can be common with some devices that don’t require you to jump through a menu to do so, such as an iPhone).
In this case, the headphones will flash blue and red until they are reconnected, which you can do following the simple steps above.
It is also possible to set the headphones to pairing mode, even if they are currently connected to a compatible device.
If they have disconnected simply wait for them to pair up again, or if not remove them from your Bluetooth device and re-pair them up. This should stop the flashing lights.
How Do I Check If My Skullcandy Headphones Are Charged?
This is pretty straightforward, simply press down the power button (it won’t matter if the headphones are on or off) and you’ll see the battery level showing on the 4 LEDs.
Can I Use Skullcandy Headphones For Mixing?
As a general rule, you’ll want to invest in a pair of studio headphones to actually mix with. The reason is studio headphones are designed to have a flat frequency response that doesn’t color the sound of the track you are mixing.
Of course, Skullcandy headphones can be used for mixing in the sense that, you can physically listen to your mix with them, but they won’t give as much of a true reflection as a pair of open-backed studio headphones.
How Do I Clean My Skullcandy Headphones?
Headphones naturally get dirt and dust built up on them, whether that’s from being carried in a rucksack or just general day-to-day use.
In order to clean your headphones, we’d advise being careful about what products you use, you don’t want to damage their look or functionality.
Grab a clean cloth, some Q Tips, and some rubbing alcohol (above 63% is best).
You may be able to remove the ear pads and extend the headband, but don’t be too rough or try and remove anything that seems to be stuck as you could easily end up damaging the headphones.
Use the rubbing alcohol sparingly and gently clean the headphones but pay extra attention to make sure that you aren’t touching the drivers or any electrical component, that might not end well!
