Japan gave us karaoke, sushi, Yamaha (and so much more). And it just got better.
Yamaha has unveiled a sleek new redesign of their flagship synth Montage to celebrate 45 years in production.
The new models will come with a white finish that will be available across all three synthesizers in the Montage range.
The anniversary models will feature new effects and sequencer based on their classic analog circuits.
Of course, it’s also what’s on the inside that counts, and Yamaha has announced an upgrade to the MODX operating systems.
The Montage OS3.0 and MODX OS2.0 have also been updated to include an addition in the form of a brand new sequencer with space for up to 16 tracks which can be saved into 128 slots giving users the ability to eliminate the use for external equipment altogether.
A series of effects will also be included including Mini Filter and Mini Booster which are modeled after classic Yamaha analog circuits.
Wave Folder is a distortion which sounds particularly exciting as Yamaha tells us it is “a special kind of distortion effect for twisting and refining sounds”.
A new LFO is also included with the unit designed to provide flexibility for a wide range of uses.
Users will also be able to access a brand new interactive web page to explore both the sounds and impact that Yamaha have had on culture with their audio products over the last 45 years.
Aside from the Montage range, the CP88 and CP73 models have also had an update with 30 new sounds and the ability to assign more functions to foot pedals and modulation controls.
